Purpose of Awards & Recognition

The Awards & Recognition programs of Authors Connect Community International (ACCI) exist to honor authors whose work demonstrates integrity, purpose, and meaningful contribution to literature and humanity.

Our recognition initiatives are designed to elevate authentic voices—not to reward popularity, commercial success, or promotional reach alone.

ACCI awards are rooted in ethical evaluation, transparency, and respect for the written word.

Guiding Principles

All ACCI recognition programs are governed by the following principles:

  • Integrity over popularity

  • Purpose over commercial performance

  • Depth over visibility metrics

  • Contribution over competition

  • Transparency over promotion

These principles guide every stage of the recognition process.

Types of Recognition

ACCI may offer recognition through various formats, including but not limited to:

  • Author honors and distinctions

  • Annual or periodic awards

  • Community acknowledgments

  • Special recognitions for contribution, impact, or service

  • Event-based or thematic recognitions

The structure, frequency, and scope of recognition programs may evolve as the community grows.

Eligibility

Eligibility criteria may vary by program but generally include:

  • Open to authors worldwide

  • No requirement for commercial publication

  • Open to emerging, independent, and established authors

  • Submission of original work or contribution aligned with ACCI’s mission

Specific eligibility requirements will be disclosed for each recognition initiative.

Submission and Nomination Process

Recognition may occur through:

  • Open submissions

  • Community nominations

  • Curated selections

  • Editorial or advisory review

Submission or nomination does not guarantee recognition.

ACCI reserves the right to:

  • Limit the number of recipients

  • Decline submissions that do not align with the program’s purpose

  • Modify submission timelines or formats

Evaluation Criteria

While each award may have specific criteria, general evaluation considerations may include:

  • Authenticity and originality

  • Depth and clarity of message

  • Ethical and cultural sensitivity

  • Contribution to human understanding or positive impact

  • Alignment with ACCI’s values and mission

Recognition is not based solely on popularity, sales figures, or social media metrics.

Review and Selection Process

All recognitions are determined through a review process that may include:

  • Editorial review

  • Advisory or selection panels

  • Internal evaluation committees

ACCI strives to ensure fair, respectful, and thoughtful consideration of all eligible submissions.

Final decisions rest solely with Authors Connect Community International.

Fees and Financial Transparency

ACCI does not operate any pay-to-win recognition programs, however

administrative and participation fees are required for future (events, materials, or operational costs), and such fees will be:

  • Clearly disclosed in advance

  • Independent of award outcomes

  • Not required for recognition consideration alone

Financial transparency is a core commitment of ACCI.

Use of Names, Images, and Recognition Materials

Recipients of recognition grant ACCI permission to:

  • Announce recognition publicly

  • Display names, images, and brief descriptions

  • Reference recognition in ACCI communications and promotional materials

Authors retain ownership of their original works.

No Guarantee or Entitlement

Recognition by ACCI:

  • Does not imply endorsement beyond the scope of the award

  • Does not guarantee publication, representation, or commercial success

  • Does not establish an employment or contractual relationship

Recognition is honorary and symbolic in nature.

Modification or Discontinuation

ACCI reserves the right to:

  • Modify award categories or criteria

  • Postpone, cancel, or discontinue programs

  • Update these guidelines as the organization evolves

Any material changes will be communicated transparently.

Ethical Commitment

ACCI is committed to maintaining:

  • Fair evaluation practices

  • Respect for cultural and creative diversity

  • Protection against conflicts of interest

  • Integrity in all recognition initiatives

Any concerns regarding fairness or ethics may be submitted for review.
